ellen stokes shadle/Danceworks (ess/DW) was  founded in 1997 and I served as

choreographer, artistic director, fundraiser, designer, booking agent, press agent,

company manager, and marketing director until 2009.

60 festivals/seasons/showcases during its 12-year run.

ess/DW was seen at venues such as the former Merce Cunningham Studio (now the Martha Graham Studio), former Dance Space (to become Dance New Amsterdam, now Gibney Dance Center), Dance Forum (defunct), the Joyce SoHo (defunct), Sal Anthony's Movement Salon, the Bridge for Dance, University Settlement, New York University, City Center Studios,

and The Ailey Citigroup Theater, among others.

Highlights of my work being presented include:  Jennifer Muller/The Works' HATCH, dancenow/downtown (now dancenow/nyc), Torque Dance, Uptown Performance Series, Andary Dance (RI),  Thang Dao Contemporary Dance Festival, American Dance Guild, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Silk City Arts  Festival, and The Elan Awards honoring Rob Marshall.
